Focus

Integration between
 neuroscience and data science

Objectives

– Introduce computational tools to understand, diagnose, and model Alzheimer’s disease, integrating methods from biophysics, statistical analysis, and artificial intelligence.

– Train the next generation of neuroscientists in modern computational methods.

– Foster interdisciplinary collaboration among research groups in Antioquia, Colombia, and internationally.

Justification

Computational Approaches to Alzheimer’s Disease is a two-day international symposium to be held in Medellín, Colombia. It will bring together researchers from Colombia and the United States to advance the understanding of Alzheimer’s disease through underutilized computational methodologies.

Moving beyond the field’s traditional emphasis on purely physiological approaches, the symposium will showcase innovative tools for understanding, diagnosing, and modeling Alzheimer’s disease. These approaches integrate methods from biophysics, statistical analysis, and artificial intelligence.

The symposium also aims to train the next generation of neuroscientists in modern computational techniques and to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among research groups in Antioquia, Colombia, and across the broader international scientific community.
